If horses are your passion and you wish to enjoy Slovak nature from the horse back then there is no better option than Ranch pod Ostrou Skalou. You’ll find it situated in the Slovak Paradise National Park, not far from the most popular natural attraction of the area – Dobšinská Ice Cave.
Built in the style of old American Western towns and perfectly placed among wonderful forests and mountains of the national park, Ranch pod Ostrou skalou attracts not only people who like old American western movies but mainly all those who like horses, nature, quietness and calm.
Visiting Ranch pod Ostrou Skalou
It is the right place if you are after an active holiday and besides hiking or skiing days you want to spend some time even with horses or other animals. Ranch pod Ostrou skalou has been operating since 2005 and the basis of their activity is livestock farming.
Horse breeding is aimed at promoting and preserving species such as Hucul and Norik, as well as breeding warm-blood horses used primarily for sports activities and agro-tourism.
There are several apartments and a private house that can accommodate more than 30 guests, being built in the American motel style. Each apartment has a separate entrance from the outdoor terrace, which provides visitors with even more privacy.
The second part of the building is also a country-style restaurant with typical simple wooden furnishings that serve not only guests but also the general public. The specificity is the preparation of fresh and homemade dishes of quality raw materials.
But, of course, the main advantage is its location! Located in the Slovak Paradise National Park and not far from Low Tatras National Park there is always something to do and see whether in summer or winter.
Don’t be afraid if you have never sat on the horseback, you can try it here for the first time! The Ranch has a horse riding school and plenty of horses to choose from. And if you are experienced horse rider, I’m sure you’ll love a multi-day trip in the saddle.
Me and my family spent a lovely weekend here and we will surely come back again, actually, can’t wait for that day. 🙂 And I am sure you’ll love it here as well!
